Tapping for Emotional Freedom. 

Tapping/Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is an evidence-based therapeutic approach that merges modern psychotherapy with ancient Chinese acupressure, offering profound benefits for stress, anxiety, pain, cravings, and a range of other issues. 

Basic Tapping/EFT Technique

  • Process Negative Emotions: Focus on a negative emotion that feels most present for you. This can be a fear, a worry, a bad memory, or any unresolved problem.

  • Tap on Meridian Points: While maintaining focus on the issue, use your fingertips to tap 5-7 times on specific meridian points of the body. This process reduces psychological distress and releases stored tension in the body.

  • Instill New Beliefs: Tap on your meridian points while voicing conscious new beliefs. This helps rewire the brain by instilling constructive new beliefs.

Preparing for 1:1 Session

1:1 tapping sessions are typically 60 minutes in length and include breathwork and grounding techniques, emotional processing, and an exploration of conscious, new beliefs. To prepare for your session, here are some tips:

  • Safe, Quiet Space: Be in a quiet, comfortable space with a reliable internet connection and minimal distractions.​

  • Tend to Your Needs: Have water, tissues, and a journal nearby. At any time you need to take care of your needs, please do so (bathroom, stretch, cry, fart, laugh, self-soothe, burp, journal, e.g. feel free to be fully and totally human!)​

  • Post-Session: Give yourself at least 30 minutes afterwards for self-care—meditate, walk, shower, journal, any practice that supports your inner peace. Avoid diving straight into work or obligations, as your mind-body system may be sensitive after our session.
